How is Your Acura Air Conditioning Doing?

How is Your Acura Air Conditioning Doing?

It’s that time of the year when temperatures start to climb. It’s shorts weather, time for a picnic, or a trip to the beach. It’s quite comfortable to be outside, but inside your Acura, the mercury skyrockets. How is your Acura air conditioning performing?

Maybe you remember that it wasn’t keeping you all that cool late last year already, or maybe you noticed your windows were difficult to keep clear in the fall and winter. Your Acura might need an air conditioning service or repair to bring it back up to snuff.

Why Does my Acura Air Conditioning Need to be Fixed?

No matter what make or model you drive – even the top-of-the-line Acura RLX or MDX – it will eventually need air conditioning service. It’s a normal condition – over time, your air conditioning system’s efficiency drops, and you’ll notice the effects as beads of sweat on your brow. Most A/C systems lose around 5% efficiency annually, so it won’t take many years to detect a change!

In some cases, seals can deteriorate or components like the compressor, condenser, or evaporator can develop a leak. These situations require a repair – the faulty part will be diagnosed, repaired and the A/C system recharged.

When Should My A/C get Checked?

In the spring or beginning of summer, bring your Acura into Jay Wolfe Acura of Springfield for an Air Conditioning Performance Inspection. This routine service determines how effective your A/C is. We can check for leaks, recharge the refrigerant in your A/C system, or advise you of failed components.

An A/C Performance Inspection should be completed annually. Spring or summer is best – if you decide to have it checked late in the season, you may decide to leave it until the following year, then find yourself uncomfortable in your Acura all over again.

Keep in mind, your Acura’s A/C system is in operation all year round. It assists in clearing your foggy or frosty windows in the fall, winter, and spring, and not just during the dog days of summer.

If you’ve noticed a problem with your Acura air conditioning or you want to schedule a performance inspection, call or stop in at Jay Wolfe Acura of Springfield. We’d love to help you keep your cool this summer!
