The 2019 Acura RDX Prototype has been Unveiled, and It’s Awesome

At the North American International Auto Show in New York, you’re bound to get a few big announcements. This year, Acura made one of the most popular reveals. The 2019 Acura RDX Prototype was on display for the first time, and, to put it mildly, it’s awesome!

What’s the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype About?

It’s time for an update to the Acura RDX. The 2019 Acura RDX Prototype gives a clear idea of the direction the production model will take. It’s coming later this year. The RDX Prototype is the most extensive redesign that Acura has ever done. The new look foreshadows the direction you can expect other models to take in the near future. Dramatic, angular lines and bright chrome and LED accents make it stand out more than ever before. Its technology gets a major upgrade, making it one of the most advanced models in its segment – or any other segment, for that matter. A True Touchpad Interface, a 710-watt Acura ELS Studio 3D sound system, next-generation AcuraLink, Surround View Camera System, and other high-tech options will be found in the RDX lineup. A new 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder will be under the hood of the RDX. With 40 percent more torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission, the 2019 RDX will be powerful and thrilling to drive. The next generation of Acura SH-AWD will also be available. Acura’s halo car, the NSX supercar, inspires parts of the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype. It will have an available Adaptive Damper System that ties into the Integrated Dynamics System, giving stability and comfort like never before. Expect a luxurious feel inside as well, if the RDX Prototype is any indication. Nappa leather, soft-touch materials, and precision fit and finish is part of the package.   Later this year, the 2019 Acura RDX will arrive in showrooms across North America.
